First time Stag!

Before I even get into the knife, I just want to say thanks to everyone here. A very deep thank you to everyone! Without this forum, and the folks here I never would have torn into my first knife. While I was working this weekend, I kept thinking about the first knife I ever did (hard to believe it's almost been a year) and how terrified I was I'd screw something up. I must have read and re-read every single thread here dozens of times trying to reassure myself. Every single project I learn something new, or get a little better at something.

I think showing off is half the reason I work on these anymore, god knows I have more than I can reasonably carry in a given week now Anywho, on with the show.

I got my first few hunks of sambar the other week! I have a couple REALLY nice pieces slabbed out for who-knows-what, but I used some of the remaining bits and put them on this little thing. In it's past life, it was a Schrade "Cope" branded 12OT. I always liked the brass bolsters, it really makes it a while nother animal from the 12OT old timers. There were a few pepper spots on the blade I had to work out, but all in all she's a nice little thing. She's riding in the pocket tomorrow for sure I think I started a bit to thick, so I lost some of my character on the scales. Lesson learned there. To make up for it, I torched it a bit. Why is it I always have to work on these tiny little things I'll be cross-eyed by 30 at this rate

Sweet! I'm trying to work up my nerve to try rebuilding a knife. Probably going to be after the first of the year, as I have too many Christmas presents to finish in my wood shop right now.
