Doctor's anyone?

Mark, I went for a long time paying little attention to run-ups until you introduced the subject and showed what was possible as demonstrated by the Japanese knives. Now it is almost the first thing I check and consider it a primary marker of precision fit. Thanks for the education.

You’re welcome Garry. It’s one of the first things I check as well. It maybe a standard that is too high given how few knives have a tight run up. I do like to point it out when I see it because it is an impressive piece of craftsmanship.

Beautiful docs guys! It's nice knowing there are others who appreciate these fascinating little beauties! I only have these 2, but leaning toward acquiring more. I've never been a fan of knives with more than 1 blade, so finding them in that configuration has been kindda difficult, but I keep looking and watching for more. First is a Parker "LPB"/MOP scales, and second is a Steel Warrior that I dropped and shattered the ox bone scales, so I re-scaled it with pieces of composite I had lying around, although, I only had enough in 2 different colors, so I did one color on each side.
