Boot Hill Coffin knife

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Made by Queen for the KCC (KA-BAR Collectors Club). Two versions were made, one like yours called the "Gunfighter", 711 made and the other with briarwood scales called the "Banker", 406 made. Original price $29.00 for your Gunfighter and $34.00 for the Banker which was model DMB88DL. This info from the 1976-1994 KCC Reference Guide. Seems odd that the stag version was cheaper than the wood version but this is what the guide states.

Thank you! I am very surprised that the stag was cheaper, seen one on ebay that the seller is asking almost $400 for...Wow!

People can ask whatever they wish, the only decent idea of value on ebay is to look at "sold items" on the left toolbar. One like yours, new in box sold for $91.15 last Sept. Another went for $179, I don't think anybody will get much more than that for one although they are pretty knives.
