Today I broke out the Christmas music while I polished a Christmas 144UH to match its shiny LB8-ish partner. I took these pics when I was done. Schrade made a few Christmas themed knives over the years. I wish they had put out more of them but it makes collecting all of them very possible.
Please post any Schrade Christmas-themed knives or ephemera that you have. Let's see how many we can come up with. Ho Ho Ho!
I have a two-knife set and a pair of Christmas Tree ornaments to get things started.
These sets came with etches representing a variety of Southern US States. My set is a South Carolina example. The official State Flower is represented in the etches. For South Carolina it is Yellow Jessamine.
The 1978 staglon LB7-stamped knife has a brass Uncle Henry shield. This was the first time Schrade sold a LB8-like knife so these sets have the earliest "Grizzly" lockbacks, the only ones with brass shields. The LB8 wasn't listed in the catalog until 1981. This was also an early release of the 144UH "Guide's Choice". It made the catalog in 1979.

Wow, what a GREAT set of knives. The 144UH is such a good looking powerful knife along with the very first LB8 even though still branded as LB7.
bladecollectorr you keep showing us great knives and always posted with the relevant details and dates. You must of put a lot of time and effort in to obtain so many minty or new in box Schrades.
Thanks for posting this set.

I appreciate the kind words. One more pic showing the loss claim certificates that came with these sets. Note that the Grizzly is officially a LB8 even though it's stamped "LB7". I do put a lot of time into my hunt for minty Schrades and I love every minute of it. To me, it's like hunting for buried treasure or finding a time capsule.kootenay joe wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 3:46 pm Wow, what a GREAT set of knives. This is a "Bubba Claus" that I used to own. I'm going to get another at some point.
