Comfort Knives!

Here is my,"comfort" knife for today. Can't remember exactly when I got it but it came from a friend of mine.Small unmarked folder with what appear to be rosewood handles that are cut on an angle to fit into the bolsters.This requires just one small pin at the rear to hold them firmly in place.
The brass liners are quite thick(approx.1/16th of an inch).The drop point blade is convex ground with a machined nail nick.The back spring is polished on the inside and a full 1/8th of an inch thick as is the blade.When opening the blade is smooth with a bit of resistance at the half open position.Not quite a half stop but close.
Someone obviously spent some time creating this one and it always amazes me that they didn't take the time to put their name on it.

Now that's my kindda knife K7K! Simple yet distinctive! I too am in wonder why someone wouldn't want their work easily recognized with some sort of markings!

My comfort knife is my pocket worn edition case 6207, I must admit I carry it at least 85% of the time , I love how it feels in the hand , it's a very tactile knife IMG_2020-12-2_11-43-18_123.jpg

This old bone handled, 4 line Cam,EO, has become my comfort knife. The age of it is one reason, as I wonder where it’s been over the years ,and what the Owner used it for . Also it’s just Comfortable in pocket, easy to slide out with a tug of the lanyard , and opens easy. It holds a edge better than many other knives . And it’s a Camillus, which is my preferred brand .

Absolutely beautiful EZO J.P.! Gorgeous bone handles on that one! Just received my very first EZO, and I love it! I'm sure I'm destined for more coming in the future! And that was my thinking behind starting this thread, the opportunity just to show off some of our favorite treasures!

I chose this knife AGAIN today as my comfort knife, and I say AGAIN because it sits beside me, or in my hand, on a regular basis! I just got it last month, and I can't seem to get enough of it! It's a Parker Cutlery lockback offering that's 8 7/8" oal/surgical SS tanto blade with long-pull, NS bolsters, brass liners and pins, and blue/brown bone scales. Made in Japan, and displays the usual Parker markings. This knife has a very comfortable 8+ oz. weight, and a perfectly placed finger choil that makes it a pleasure to hold. Definitely one of my favorites!

I have my Paragon mid-lockback folder with me today, and I have a sneaking suspicion that it's destined to becoming a regular! It's 8 1/4" oal of knife manufacturing marvel, with a SS drop-point blade with 50% swedge and thumb-hole for opening, SS liners and pins, and jet-black micarta scales. Comfortable weight of about 5 oz.'s, and a perfectly positioned finger-choil. Made in Seki, Japan. Tight and loud walk and talk when it's opening and closing. The run-up on this beauty is comparable to that of a Moki, with a nearly invisible meeting point. Even if I carried a knife everyday, I wouldn't dream of using this one and risk ruining it's gorgeous appearance!

Here is a knife that I have spend many hours admiring. Bought it from A.G. Russell many years ago. It became almost an obsession to own one of these. It’s a Lone Wolf Paul knife. The blade is hakkapella Damascus and the handles are tiger eye. This knife has a push button to open. You can hold it up and let the handle fall away from the blade or you can rotate it manually out while depressing the button. The Damascus on this is beautiful to look at and so are the handles. I’ve never cut a thing with it and it spends most of it’s time in my display case, but this is one that I get out often and just admire and open and close it.

Thanks Garry, it is a nice looking knife. The knife in the catalog picture had more striking tiger eye than this one. I think I hesitated for too long and got one toward the end of the run. I think A.G only had 100 of these made and assigned the best looking to the earliest purchasers.
At the time I bought this it was the most expensive knife I had ever purchased and is still up there near the top of the list, it’s an amazing knife.
