Wards made in USA 183

Howdy again,
Different knife, more questions....

So this little guy arrived in the mail today after a world tour with the USPS lasting 19 days
Was hoping someone here could enlighten me to the numbering system they used and possibly the maker of the knife. I only found one other similar 2 blade pearl with 184 stamp on the bay.

Evening, will throw this at you. Check out the Camillus section, look for other brands thread. Camillus made knives for MANY other Companies ,jobbers ,hardware stores etc. I do believe that Wards, made in the USA, was made by Camillus as well . Don’t quote me on that as my memory isn’t always running on all cylinders.
And the bone looks like the stuff Camillus used.

Never heard that Remington made Wards knives,but Winchester did.

Not sure if you can differentiate Winchester Federal shields from others, but if you look at old Winchester knife pictures in one of Sargent's books you will see a lot of them. An observation I had recently.

Still trying to acquire the proper literature for the hobby. For Christmas I was able to get myself a used copy of Levine's Guide to Knives 4th edition

Excellent start! Once you hone in on certain makers you like collecting, you'll find brand specific books that go into more detail.
