Where to buy a Cutlers stiddy
Any idea where a Cutlers stiddy could be bought? Ive looked on ebay and in the AAPK store. I checked Jantz supply and they dont seem to carry them either.Any leads would greatly be appriciated.

Re: Where to buy a Cutlers stiddy
I've been looking for one for the past couple of years. They're just not all that available.
There's another thread here in the forum that's dedicated to homemade stiddys (made out of a piece of railroad track).

Re: Where to buy a Cutlers stiddy
I searched for a stiddy for several years! There used to be someone who sold them at the Oregon Show in Eugene, but I didn't buy one when I should have. I finally found an exceptional one at a local gun show, but the fella wanted a ridiculously high price so I didn't buy it. About six months later I saw it again and finally traded about $300.00 worth of gun parts for it. Crazy, but I am glad I finally got one. I don't know how I got along without.
The moral of my story is: If you locate one don't worry about the cost, just close your eyes, swallow hard, and leap.

Re: Where to buy a Cutlers stiddy
Thank you guys. I found the specs for one in a knife repair book. A good friend of mine is a machinist and says there easy. He’s gonna make it out of tool steel and have it heat treated.
He said it needed to be Rockwell 45 I think.
Ordering steel Monday. As soon as it is done I’ll post pics. He could probably crank em out if anybody else is interested.

Set up a 'saved search' on Ebay. Worked for me after a few months.

I’ll post it up when mine is done. Then he will have an idea of how long to machine one out.

Craft one, if you have the resources.
Start with regular or mine gauge railway track.
Or go with new stock steel.

Re: Where to buy a Cutlers stiddy
Well my friend who offered to machine me a cutlers stiddy had not mentioned it for awhile.
But this guy never disappoints and he showed up at my house the other night to help me with my truck and dropped off my Christmas gift. A stiddy for me and one for my good friend. They are truly perfect. I’ve already used mine and it worked great. One of the nicest gifts I’ve ever received due to the thought he put into it.
Sorry about the pictures being side ways.

It’s an amazing piece of machining. Is it made out of 1 piece?

Thanks for the reply. Makes a lot of sense to do it that way.
