this is one of my edcs. pretty good knife but so plain jane. scales were supposed to be horn, they were some kinda plastic. before and after. rehandled with ebony to keep the original theme. added a half stop and some spring and blade filework.

Nice work Johnnie!
Looks better with wood.
I bet the ebony feels better than the plastic!

Re: t.w. ablett
quick story. I was browsing AAPK at work today (shhhh, don't tell the boss) and one of my coworkers saw this your work Johnnie. His words, more or less, were "he didn't really do much, did he, just some things on the back, it looks the same"
This comment made me realize how nice it is to be able to post things here. The average joe just doesn't see how much work "not much" is. from disassembly, mechanical changes, re-handling and repinning, finish work, etc. It's not like we can snap these thing back together like legos
Fantastic work Johnnie, it's got some soul now

Re: t.w. ablett
Ebony is a neat wood. It feels less like wood & more like bone sometimes because of it's density.
However, to me it has a warmer feel than bone. It is hard to describe, but it is one of my favorite woods for knife handles.
Just my 2 cents,
Dale
