Here's another knife that hasn't been getting much attention, so it's my knife of the day! It's a Shelham lockback dagger/SS bayonet blade with fuller, cast iron accented bolsters and liners, and dark green cross-cut composite covers. Weighs a comfortable 5 oz.'s, and has a very sharp bottom edge. Covered in Shelham markings, and built in Japan by Master Seizo Imai. Nice inexpensive little dagger!

I was on the go from the moment I awoke today, and this nice little folder came along for the ride! It's a Marbles 7" oal lockback/SS drop-point blade with n/n, NS intricately engraved bolsters, brass liners and pins, and warm deep chocolate and white swirl dark horn covers. Weighs-in at 2.5 oz.'s, and finely sharpened. Showing Marbles markings, and handmade in Seki, Japan. Beautiful knife for carrying in your coin/watch pocket!

That Marbles is nice Mark. I intended to keep that one, but when someone else wants one I have, it’s hard for me to say no. That is a fine looking knife.
I keep watching for another one, eventually it will come along.

Thanks Mark, I know you know just how nice that little Marbles is! Ya know, I saw one not too long ago, although, I don't even recall if it was for sale, or, where I saw it, but if I remember I'll let you know, and, I'll keep an eye out for another one as well.

This knife for today is, without a doubt, my favorite piece of my entire collection! It's an Exiled Cutlery Sons of Italy Omerta lockback icepick auto, built from scratch by Ruben "Chad" Blades in the USA. It measures 11 1/4" oal/5mm SS modified bayonet blade riding on roller-bearing washers, solid brass squared bolsters, squared brass button, brass liners and pins, 5mm heat-blued 1-piece spring, and jet-black ABS covers. All the brass on this knife gives it a hefty weight of about 12 oz.'s, and came with the bottom edge unsharpened due to this being a stabbing weapon, not a cutting knife. Bears all the Exiled markings. The fit n' finish on this knife is beyond reproach. Wrist twisting action when fired, and locks-up tight and secure. An absolute masterpiece!

Marco, before reading your description, upon seeing the photo I immediately went, "Ohhhhhh." That knife is one for the ages. And its made in the U.S. I will have to investigate Ruben Chad Blades. Congratulations big time.

Thanks so much Garry! Chad has been building knives for over 20 years, and he was in collaboration with a fella named Jon Benson who owned and operated Roadsideimports.com . There were 4 separate sites, Autoknife.com , Switchbladekits.com , Butterflyknives.com , and Butterflyknifekits.com . The first site sold assembled automatic knives, the 2nd sold unassembled autos for shipping to restricted countries, the 3rd assembled butterfly knives, and the last unassembled butterfly knives for shipping to restricted countries. Jon has been selling these knives since 2005, and I believe Chad joined up with him around 2010. Jon was stationed in Colorado, and Chad was stationed in Oregon or Washington, I can't recall exactly. Over the years, the government has shut down the operation a couple of time, citing violations to the 1958 Switchblade Act, and unfortunately that is the current status. Each time they've been shut down, they've re-opened under a different name, Exiled Cutlery.com , Assisted Knife.com , and the most recent Roadsideimports.com . I'm really hoping this closure is only temporary, because my very last package from them, containing the blade and pivot screw for a $610. knife I ordered has been lost or stolen from the USPS mail, and the "kits" site sells the necessary parts. Due to Canadian knife restrictions Jon would send my knives in 2 separate packages, 1 with the body, and 1 with the blade and pivot, thus turning the knives into "parts", and 100% legal to import. For this last knife, I received the body, but the blade package was mailed on Aug.29th, and I haven't received it as of today. "Straydog" would also consign some of his knives to Jon's site, and Jon already had close to 10,000 knives available for purchase. Chad was one of the first builders to do successful conversions from manual to auto knives, and my John Nowill and Sons with the lost blade is one of those conversions. Jon was who I was referring to when I told you Benchmade had sued him over copyright infringement of the word "Balisong", when they didn't legally own the rights. When you search any of the above sites or names, the Exiled Cutlery pages come up, although, the only information that can be accessed is about the law suit. I have my feelers out to "Muskratman" and "Straydog" to build me a blade for my knife, but both are currently swamped with work, so perhaps in the future. If I can't get a blade built I'll continue to be sitting on a $610. paperweight! You may find information on Chad through a search, but I've never done one so I don't know for sure. I included a pic of the John Nowill and Sons conversion knife, MINUS the missing blade. It's a gorgeous knife, with a 5mm blade that rides on roller-bearing washers, beautiful Becote wood covers, and the 5mm back-spring fires the blade out with incredible force, it would be a real shame if I never got it operational!
