Comfort Knives!

JerryD, yes Sir a great past time ,especially this time of year !
Went a little Military today , down in the shop digging thru some old WW1 Bayonets and seen this M4 in there, which needed to go in a different period of knives . So kind of been sticking it in some old crates and making up some kindling with it . Yes should use my axe ,but this way feels better .This M4 has the ordinance symbol and makers mark on the guard .

I chose this replica of an Italian styled knife for my companion today! This one is an 8 1/4" oal slip-joint/SS drop-point blade with n/n, brass ringed bolsters, brass liners and pins, and black ABS covers. Weighs-in at about 2.5 oz.'s, and extremely sharp. Smooth walk, and loud talk. It's unmarked save for a teeny-weeny "PAKISTAN" etch on the rear blade. An inexpensive knife that's well put together, and is best described as a modified Italian vendetta knife!

I recently added this fixed blade to my EDC’s. A new store opened here on AAPK and I saw this one and had to have it. It’s all hand made, even the blade. He has a couple of more for sale that he made and I would encourage anyone thinking about these to get one. This knife feels great in hand and is so well made. Love the stag handle. The hand made sheath is pretty nice too, but the pommel is what really sold me.

I'm really hoping I haven't posted this knife today before, but there's getting to be too many pages to go through each day to see if I've posted them already, so if it's a repeat, my apologies! This is a Beretta bullet-release slip-joint that's 7 3/4" oal/SS drop-point blade with n/n, SS liners, black cross-cut rubber covers, lanyard hole, and brass bullet-release. Approximate weight of 3.5 oz.'s, and very sharp. Has Beretta markings, and made in Seki, Japan. Excellent walk, and fierce talk. It operates just how you think it would, with slip-joint opening and pressing down on the bullet to close. Lots of fun to play with!

This "comfort" knife for today's activities is another that I can't recall if I posted it here before or not, so if it's a duplicate post, I apologize! It's a clone of the "AKC Bill De Shivs Leverletto" leverlock auto, and is 9" oal/SS flat-grind blade with 30% swedge, SS liners and lever, brass ringed bolsters and pins, removeable sex-pin and spring, and dark horn covers. An approximate weight of 5 oz.'s, and arrived sharp. Fires fast and hard, and locks-up tight. This knife has a "Leverletto" front blade etch, and unfortunately an "AKC Italy" front tang etch, although, the Chinese did stop there by NOT including the "Bill De Shivs" etch. Too bad they didn't eliminate the "AKC Italy" etch, since that would have made the knife a copy, not a counterfeit. For anyone who's interested, one way to spot a counterfeit leverlock knife, is the screw that's in the plate at the bottom of the lever mechanism on the front of the knife, since the legitimate knives have a fixed rivet, NOT a screw. Of course I bought this knife due to the reduced price, I just wish it wasn't so blatantly counterfeited, cuz it's a very cool knife otherwise!

Dirty and beat up with the blades so worn that they would not close all the way but I thought if I bought it and ground down the kicks on the blades it might be great, so I did. and it is. This has become the knife I just naturally pick up and put in my pocket every day.

That's teriffic Nick! No reason you can't focus on collecting Colonials and simply enjoy viewing the others, or, make an occasional purchase of something you ordinarily wouldn't, just because you happen to really like it. Nice Willy! I examined the whole set of your pen knives over in "Mail Call", and I must say, they are super cool and very unique, congrats on picking those up! Ole Yeller appears to be well used, yet held up to everything you threw at her, very nice old soldier! Stay warm over there buddy, it can't get much colder than this!(I hope!)

The knife I have with me today is this Seki, Japan built "Ant 2" linerlock! It is 6" oal/SS drop-point blade with stud, 2-piece all SS body with engraving, SS single-liner and pins, and lanyard hole. Weighs about 3.5 oz.'s, and came very sharp. Has an "ANT" and Ant logo front tang stamp, and "Seki-Japan" rear tang stamp. As I'm sure you've all deduced, the knife closes by depressing the SS ball just below the pivot pin, which in-turn depresses the single liner, allowing the blade to fold closed. I bought this knife strictly as a novelty, but once it arrived and I saw just how well-built it is, I've used it to open boxes, letters, and cut string, and I'm positive it could stand-up to much harder treatment! As I do with most of my knives I removed the stud to clean-up it's profile, but the blade is wide enough to make for easy pinch opening! Cool, fun-to-play-with little folder!

Holy Cow ! I'm a southern boy and cannot even imagine what -40 would be like. Don't think I want to either. stay warm

Afternoon everyone, still hiding out inside, the wind has stopped but still minus 20 something out. So was thinking about riding weather and this Case came to mind.
When out riding motorcycle always tuck this boot knife in my boot. It’s not a knife that would use unless the situation would arise. Like to have a second knive when on the road, cause you never know .

You got it Nick! The silver ball-bearing is depressed and it depresses the single liner that's holding the blade open. Exactly the same as the Beretta bullet knife. I don't know that they're super rare, but personally I've only seen my 2 and a few others.

Nick! Thank your lucky stars that you can't imagine what -40 is like, and I can assure you, you don't want to know! Try imagining, you go out to your car in the morning, and the tires are square not round due to the cold, then, get into your car and try to start it, no chance without a block heater being plugged in all night, and even then it's not a guarantee! I was definitely born in the wrong country as I love 90+, NOT -40, and with the wind chill even -50 or more! Total insanity!!!
