What do you call this Hen and Rooster pattern?

Post by Sharpnshinyknives »

Okay I’m stumped. I searched every Ebay listing for this knife and found zero. Searched other knife sites and still nothing. Does anyone know what this pattern is called? It has 143 on the blade and DS, which I know stands for Dear Stag. I suspect it’s some kind of whittler but I could be wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I wish I could help Mark, but I'm afraid my knowledge of your knife and many others is sorely lacking. ::shrug:: It sure is a beautiful knife though. I've never seen that bolster design before, but I really like them! Congrats! 8)

I always thought a Stockman on a Canoe frame was called a Gunboat or something like that.

With the squared off bolsters I wasn’t sure. It does look like a canoe. Didn’t know if H&R had a certain name for it or not? It’s a bit unusual for sure.

I would've said gunboat as well. But there are smarter guys than me here.
