Thank you for the kind words and thanks for adding to the list. I'm not familiar with the Fewayso stamp;is it German?

Thought I would add this one as I came across it while scanning for the next installment. This knife was always a bit of a mystery to me until just a short time ago.I got it from my cousin who found it while cleaning out his late father-in-law's effects along with several other knives.Most were a bit of a mystery as they were "theatre" knives he had brought home from WWII.This one had a stamp on it but it was partially obscured and the opposite side had been ground away.
I always thought it was of French origin due to the figure of a soldier that looked to be of WWI vintage and the name Monterrey on it.
A short time ago I was perusing a site and found the identical knife to mine on it and again with no information.........until I read the comments and one was from the son of the person who made it! Turned out he was a knifemaker in Monterrey MEXICO by the name of Eduardo Farias who was born in 1882 and died in 1970. I sent his son an e-mail but never got a reply as the post was about 7 years old.

Yes sir. The Faweyso is German. From what I could gather, with the help of a member of thig great site, it stands for Franz Weyand and Son. They were primarily known for razors, but also made knives. It's a great little knife. Very well made. That knife you posted looks to be very professionally made. It's got to be super rare too. A nice combo!

It's actually (from what I have read) a mosaic of different kinds of stone. He worked in Bavaria, so I suppose it was what was native to Eastern Europe, though I'm sure he might have imported stones from elsewhere.
