Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Very nice Squatch. I know in 1996 there were several variations of the Camillus Buckmasters. They made the one like yours, along with a Bird knife with gut hook, a large Toothpick, along with some assisted openers with black handles and lock backs.

I added another Barlow to my Barlow Box and Camillus Family. This one is the Long Line Tang Stamp, # 51 Barlow with the Clip Main blade. The number 51 is stamped on the pile side of the clip blade. Blades still have factory luster but does have spotting. Blades are tight with no wobble and great snap. This one has the brown composite handles, not the delrin.

Nice! This was the very knife that sold me on Canoes. Nice wide main blade and I can open the main blade with my gloves on. And, really inexpensive on the secondary market. I paid like $20 for mine, and one with the proper Camillus box isn't much more. And from a user perspective, I think Camillus had better stainless steel than Case does now.

Buckmasters put out a TON of knives with their logo. I've seen them from most American cutlery companies, as well as a ton of cheap imports. I also have a green-handled Gerber Magnum LST Jr. lockback from the mid '90s (dark green color was exclusive to Buckmasters) with the logo etched on the blade, and oddly, a ripoff exists of that Gerber (with the same etching on the blade) only marked "STAINLESS CHINA".

Very nice lineup of the Rimfire Classics. ::tu:: The LR-6 whittler is one of my Unicorn knifes I've been trying to find for my Camillus 72 Clone family. They are pretty tough to find.
