Anyone know of a German Knife company named Nippe & Plumacher? I am looking for what their tang stamps looked like, if anyone has a photo of one of these knives. ::hmm::

Hi Buddy,

I did some looking around over here just to see what I could find out for you. I found Nippes Solingen. Who have been around for a while. I think it was since 1923. ::hmm:: Seems they are mainly into manicure stuff.

https://www.nippes-solingen.de/

And then there is Grah & Plümacher Solingen. Seems like they are or were ::shrug:: mainly into razors. Some of the Brand names they used can be found in the thread in this link below. ( Silver Ring, Gael, Gotta, Feinklang )

https://www.gut-rasiert.de/forum/index.php?topic=5619.0

Maybe they made some things in a joint venture at some point in time. ::shrug:: And if you wish to search for Plümacher, the letter Ü can be replaced with ue. Like Pluemacher. ::tu::

Hope this was at least a little bit helpful. ::handshake::

Edit: And if you look down further in the thread. You will see a stamp like knife7knut posted but with the brand Black Smith.

Carter's guide to "German Knife and Sword Makers" has a listing for Nippes & Plumacher. However, there is not a lot of information given. Listed as "Messerfabrik; Solingen-Ohligs, Weyerstrasse 35-7 in 1939. He says it they were listed as knifemakers since 1900. The partnership was owned by Paul and Willy Nippes from 1925 to 1939. There are no examples of markings used either listed or shown.

I am not sure if it was an outgrowth of the company. I DID SOME RESEARCH and found a Plumacher associated with another company as well but I can't find a tang stamp that is the one I am looking. ::disgust::

Thanks! They are mentioned in my knife collector's book, but also no tang stamp is shown ::skeptic:: ...
