Continuing on with the series we now come to knives(and other objects)that have been subjected to the art of the carver. Before modern production techniques made it possible to duplicate virtually anything that was previously laboriously carved by hand,The companies employed skilled artisans who carved images and designs into handles made of pearl,ivory,bone,horn,and wood.Here are some examples of designs carved into a variety of materials.

That is what that one is;part of a knife,sharpening steel,&cleaver set.
