Schrade Walnut Box-Help needed

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Schrade Walnut Box-Help needed

Post by Schradenut »

This Schrade hinged box has come into my possession, and it is one that I have never seen before.
The Boar laser etch is a beauty, and it is driving me crazy not knowing the history of it. The inside liner is for a PH1, and that's all I know, although one of the guys hinted that it could have been for the European market.
If any of you learned Gentleman can help me out here, I would be most appreciative.
Tony.

Thanks Bob. Yes it is a super box, and the knife that was in it was a PH1 "Budweiser-Salutes Texas Ducks Unlimited". An amazingly good set, but they aren't a matching set...pity, and it is driving me nuts trying to find out what knife the box was made for.
Cheers mate,
Tony.

It surely is Mike....if only I could find the knife that goes with it.
Cheers,
Tony.
