I just ordered this Viper-Tec OTF from Blade City

This 8" drop-point OTF with an M390 Bohler Stainless Steel blade should prove to be a real workhorse!

Usually, anything after the filename in a Shopify URL is just size information. Typically, though not always, deleting that gives the full-size image.

In this case, getting rid of the "50x50" brought out the full size image.

Also had to convert it from WEBP to PNG. I don't know what's with this format. A lot of places use it as the file size is smaller, but it's a headache with Windows, many computer programs, and most forums. Shopify is bad as it will often say "PNG" or "JPG" in the URL, but it's a WEBP.

Looks great!

I just checked, and my order is just fine. (I had to learn how to register and check the status of my order). Let's see... ::hmm:: N390 Stainless Steel, drop-point style blade and semi-custom quality. What's not to like?

This is going to be a great knife for use/carry. 8) ::ds:: ::tu::

The knife turned out to be a "lemon". (It suffered from a bad firing mechanism). I accidentally sent it to the wrong return address. (I hope I can get this worked out). The blade was fine, but the retracting mechanism was defective. (It wouldn't unlock to retract).

This will be a very expensive knife. ::dang:: ::td::  :x

While thoroughly hacked-off, I still hope that the misaddressed package will be returned. I can then send it back to Blade City. They should send a new knife. (I really wanted to like this knife). The M390 steel was fine, but the mechanism was craptacular! ::doh:: ::disgust:: ::dang:: ::barf::

I have the deep and abiding feeling that I have been screwed! Blade City has yet to respond and I'm out nearly $155.00! ::facepalm:: ::dang:: ::td:: I have my doubts whether, or not, Blade City will help me take care of the lost lemon of a knife.

Be advised. (Forewarned is forearmed).

Win some and then you loose some, thanks for the warning. Give it some time, it's possible you may be reimbursed, sometimes returns can take awhile. Good luck!

The knife was shipped to the wrong address in Florida. It now must be returned to me so that I may reship it back to Doral (Miami) Florida.
This will take some time and it will cost me even more money to return a defective knife.

DAYUM! ::facepalm:: ::dang:: ::td:: :x ::barf::

I was picking up a bite at the North Plains McDonald's and ran into the Postal Clerk when I shipped the knife back to Florida. I had spoken with her for about two minutes when she reassured me that the package would likely be returned to me and I could reship the knife back to Doral (Miami) FL. I certainly hope she's right and that I get the knife back so I can reship it to Blade City.

I liked the knife and want mine so badly that I can almost taste it! ::pray:: ::disgust::

The knife never came back. (I'm out $152.45). I have told Blade City that I'll never purchase from them again and will warn everyone I know never to do business with them. Hold tight to your wallets and never buy ANYTHING from BLade City!

Blade City sent me a new knife exactly like the defective blade. From 9/27/21 to 12/6/21. I took them 68 days to rectify the problem, but I have a new knife. It is just like the one I originally ordered. This one works.

I am willing to admit that I returned the item to the wrong address (mea culpa). My only misgiving was the lack of communication. Were I in their shoes, I would have been in touch, letting the customer know what was being done.

This isn't a bad knife at all. I am enjoying both the "fidget factor" and its ability to take a razor's edge and keep it. (Making the drop-point blade a useful tool, instead of just a plaything). The M390 steel is hard to sharpen, but that means that the blade will hold a decent edge. This is an excellent advantage when carrying a blade that's intended for hard use.

I can safely recommend this knife.

Glad the issue got resolved! I’ve bought from Blade City a couple times before. My experiences with them have been good. Of course, if you get a product that’s defective and need a replacement, being as transparent as possible and keeping a proper line of communication with the buyer is essential for any business. Hopefully they’ll work to improve this on their end, regardless of any mistakes you may make in returning something.
