Buck 112's

Post by arksknives »

Here are a few Buck 112's I finished up for a customer. All mammoth Ivory handles. I thought they turned out real nice.
Thanks,
Eric

Very nice work Eric!

What are your thoughts on using that material on a hidden tang handle; do you think it's stable enough? I guess if it were stabilized it may help. ::doh::
I have never worked with it before so I thought I would ask.

In my opinion, I don't think it would be stable enough for a hidden tang. I don't do the hidden tang knives so not really sure though. It is somewhat brittle so I like using spacer material under it to help stabilize it a bit more. Maybe someone else will chime in with a better answer for you?
