Good day at the Honey Hole! So my local haunt found a few things in their storeroom that they brought out a few days ago.
I happened to wander in today to find a NOS 2010 6347WH gift tin with sharpening stone and a block of wood.
Also found a NOS 2013 Copperlock with script shield. Couldn't leave without them..IMG_1865 (2).JPG

Alex, you may want to check the knife in the first three pictures to see if it is a 'slot' knive, i.e., the knife can be taken apart into two of three parts. I have one that looks very much like your knife that was made by the New York Knife Co and it comes apart although the first time it was rather difficult, but after cleaning it is much easier now. One like your knife sold on Ebay earlier this year but I don't recall what it went for....but I do recall that I was surprised at the price being much higher than I would have ever paid. Looks like you have been a busy boy!

yes. I saw one ,that can be taken apart(fork and spoon from knife) .but it is not my.anyway,I like it.for me it is great part of history of country.and I wouid like to know a little bit more about this cutlery( or what ever it was).Thanks for advise.

Saw a lot of knives today, spent probably 4 hours in 3 stores. The 1st store I could have gotten a "vintage" Rough Ryder trapper for only $40.00. Right next door in another antique store I found a Case XX 6217 for $25 out the door. The loom fixer was pretty rough looking, a little bit of rust, stained bolsters and missing some metal on both blades.
I did find in the 1st store an interesting small vice, in the original box, before zip codes, made in the USA , Portable Vacuvice. The original price tag shows $6.25. It works.
The last store we looked through was a big antique mall, an old K-Mart store full of goodies. Lots of high dollar new Case knives, mostly trappers and all priced way over what we can buy them for at a local hardware.

XX 6217 cleaned up a bit and the sheep foot lowered just a bit. Perfect beautiful bone on both sides!

The blade wear was obvious, but it still has lots of life. It still has the proverbial "gator snap" on both blade plus the great half stops.

Nice pickups! Quite the score on the Loomfixer! People want nutty amounts for them even in that shape. I eventually settled for Rough Ryder's Half Hawk when they came out with a carbon steel version in the "Denim Micarta" line. Rough Ryder's T-10 (which is a Chinese 1095) is no Case CV, but it holds a decent edge.

I really like the Vacuvise. Our mechatronics lab back in community college had one, and I really liked it. It allowed a light-duty vise wherever we needed it. For knife and hobby work, it's enough. For harder chores, we've got a vise in the farm shop that opens up about ten inches.
