This knife has the profile of a "straight line" (late era) Remington RC853. Standard Knife Company (associated to Case) was Jobber who put various different brands of pocket knives out under the Standard Trademark in the early 1920's I own two toothpicks that were made by Imperial and one that is actually a Case "High Art" 093, with the Standard stamp. The Remington RC853s were not being produced until the late 20s and are quite a bit cheaper looking than their bretheren from the early Twenties, and so quite distinctive. I'm fairly sure Standard would not have contracted Remington pocket knives anyway. Plus the handles on this knife strike me as being modern replacements of the cheap rough black originals, others might want to weigh in on this. See photos. None of My Standards have this tang stamp. Perhaps others might weigh in on this. But be forewarned: Goin's description of Standard Knife Company is limited by the examples he saw back in the day. I believe he said Ka-Bar provided most of the knives at some point. This wasn't the case, although Ka-Bar probably did contract knives to Standard. Some collectors misunderstand Goins as meaning they were all Ka-Bar knives--not true.
