Like the twin towers, everyone of any age remembers where they were when they heard the news.

I was stationed at MCRD San Diego going through Basic Electronics School. I along with a couple of other guys from my class were walking across The Grinder (parade ground), headed for the chow hall. A guy walking in the opposite direction called out to us, "Hey! Did you hear, Kennedy got shot?"

Third grade was a long time ago... but I remember being told by my teacher Miss Dunbar about the assassination before I left the classroom. :( ::tear::

I was in elementary school in Jonesboro Indiana, it was announced by the principal over the intercom. Doubt I'll ever forget.

I was 12 years old. I was in Mr. Ford's class when an announcement came over the school PA system that the President had been shot. Mr. Ford ran to the back of the classroom and turned on an old radio and until the last school bell we sat there and listened to the reports. All the way through the funeral our family was glued to the TV coverage.

I had just finished lunch and was walking back to work in the Borg Warner building on Michigan Ave. right across the street from the Art Institute.
There were special edition newspapers at the corner rack with the headlines.

As Jerry noted, everyone remembers where they were when learning of Kennedy's assassination. There was one notable exception. George Bush Sr. claimed he couldn't remember. He recalled he was in Texas, not Dallas, but that was as close as he could recall. Strange.

I was in biology class when the the Jr. High put the radio broadcast on the PA system.
Several girls started crying and one guy stoou up and started cheering and clapping.

Although many people liked JFK there were strong feelings of division in the country even then.

Dale, your experience was almost identical to mine. Colonial High School, 12th grade, psychology class, teacher- Mr. Lonnie Stanford (also track coach).
Girls cried some boys cheered. ::hmm::
