Jaguar Camper /Shell Puller Auto

Post by StHubert »

I figured I'd share a pic of one of my first acquisitions since I started researching Dad's Italian Shell-Puller in other post. I'm growing fond of this style as I dig through the the internet. I'm guessing this is also Italian but unsure.. Date ? no clue.

What is stamped on the tang? If you can post a pic. of the tang stamp that will help to identity the knife.

Stamp is :
JAGUAR
ROSTFREI

Research on this site and others points to "Rostfrei" being used on German-made knives, but I see Italian knives (or claimed as Italian) with this same stamp. Scales are horn.

Looks like another Calibro model St.H! More attachments on this one though. BTW, "Rostfrei" simply means "rust-free" in Italian or German. Actually, I think "Inox" is the Italian, and "rostfrei" is the German. 8)

I also like this camper pattern. I have attached a pic of some of mine a Latama, Zoppis, Hubertus, and a Mikov as well as a pic of an original ad for the Zoppis. ( note the blades in the pics are not shiney, actually they are I took these through a display case and could not get the lighting correct.) Values of these vary wildly. The Latama is quite sought after the Zoppis and Hubertus also fairly high with the modern Mikov bringing the least. Good hunting LT
