That's a definite "no" answer to the bear and woods question, bighomer.
"Not if he's in the clearing."
"Not if he's in the clearing."
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Some random outdoor shots over the last several weeks; hunting, FW fishing, SW fishing. My hunting partner Mark (my S3 during OIF in 2003) scored his first buck, an eight point - proud to be part of that hunt. OH
Deep in the guts of most men is buried the involuntary response to the hunter's horn, a prickle of the nape hairs, an acceleration of the pulse, an atavistic memory of his fathers, who killed first with stone, and then with club...Robert Ruark

Bruce, looks like y'all are enjoying the great outdoors! Good to see the evidence, deer on the ground and fish on the bank!
Do y'all call 'em Crappies or Specks? Where we grew up in Central Florida, Crappies were called "Specks" after all they are Speckled Perch. I suppose there are lots of local names for different fish, some folks here in the Panhandle would call the little bass a "trout".
Have a great Christmas!

Great to see you posting, OH! Very nice assortment of pics, really like the one with the clouds and sun's reflection on the water and wet sand.

Big Homer, the wild bear ###### in the woods is a great picture!
Thanks to you gentlemen for all the nice comments on my pictures - love trying to capture what I see when I’m out on pictures but as you all know, nature itself is more beautiful than any picture.
Phil, we call them Crappie. Around here a “Speck” is a Spotted Sea Trout, the number one gamefish among inshore SW anglers.
