Couple this with the replica of my sainted daddy's Fishtail Picklock and my personal EDC needs will be met.

Life is good.

Thanks, brother. This is a great little EDC OTF. Opening packages, cleaning fingernails, disappearing into my pocket until needed... I'll be rotating this with my Piranha "Fingerling" and P1 (Piranha "Pocket). These are such great personal pocket knives that make the hobby such good, clean fun.
It's really nice to see you all fired-up about your new knives! When I get a new model I coon finger it most of that day and usually the next too, but then it goes into my display until the next time I get a craving for that particular knife, but you have a whole detailed plan for when you'll carry it and exactly for what purposes, and I think that's very cool! I'm sure if my circumstances were different I would lean toward doing the same as you, but alas, I'm pretty much a home-body so I have to get my thrills wherever I can! Enjoy your new knife my friend!Captain O wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 2:11 amThanks, brother. This is a great little EDC OTF. As long as any part of the knife is visible (e.g. a pocket clip) carrying an automatic knife is legal in the state of Oregon. This was changed by an Oregon State court ruling in 1984.TPK wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:28 amCongrats Buddy!Captain O wrote: ↑Mon Dec 20, 2021 10:59 pm Thanks to "Tazman Tom" by December 25th, I should be the proud owner of a Microtech Dirac. I'm curious, can you carry those in OR? In Germany any automatics or one handed openers are illegal carries.

That's great! Wish I could carry one of those.Captain O wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:45 amAs long as any part of the knife is visible (e.g. a pocket clip) carrying an automatic knife is legal in the state of Oregon. Discretion is always a good idea.
I wish you could as well. The prohibition of automatic knives is a political absurdity. Why would you want to kill someone with a $300.00+ automatic knife when a disposable Steak Knife from Asia would do just as well.TPK wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:51 amThat's great! Statistics prove that 90% of knife crime is committed with kitchen knives and are not premeditated but are crimes of passion instead committed in a moment of rage. I was thinking that one of the best ways to help stop autos from being stigmatized as evil weapons is to refer to them ONLY as "automatic knives" as opposed to the old and tired "switchblade knives", which still to this day conjures up some image of a hoodlum in a black leather jacket waving an auto around threatening an upstanding citizen. You guys should feel privileged that your country has come to it's senses and is changing the outdated auto knife laws more and more everyday, cuz up here our politicians are still stuck back in the 50's somewhere and seem to feel Communism is the way to go!Captain O wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:25 pmI wish you could as well. I have a degree in Speech Communication (with a minor in Sociology) and 2 years of Post Baccalaureate study in History and the Administration Of Justice. Any Speech Communication major will tell you that "perception is the reality". (I have been at this a while).Madmarco wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 9:10 pmStatistics prove that 90% of knife crime is committed with kitchen knives and are not premeditated but are crimes of passion instead committed in a moment of rage.
