Re: Fake Case Bros and Miller bros
Other than being fakes, I think they are pretty nice looking knives. The tang stamps look very suspicious to me.

They do look good. The choil on the Case looks odd to me though.

Re: Fake Case Bros and Miller bros
I'm nomally not much on reading stamps but these both stick out as fake stamps. Note that all the letter ends are very rounded. Stamps on old knives should have letter ends that appear more squared off. The doctor's knife is an example of looks new because it is new. The stamp on it's master blade is off center. The Case knife looks like one of the many fakes sold on eBay by a vender that used to take center stage here in the counterfeit forum.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

I think the bone work is pretty good. I wonder how they get that to look so good ?

I believe the frame on the Case is an old original one including the handles though not Case. The dr’s knife frame and handles are newer.celluloidheros wrote: ↑Thu Dec 23, 2021 4:50 am I think the bone work is pretty good. I wonder how they get that to look so good ?

Re: Fake Case Bros and Miller bros
It tough for them to get bone to age and obtaining old bone in mint condition must be impossible. I'm always looking for clues so i don't make the mistake of buying a fake.

Not really, I have a lot of it, but luckily I'm not into counterfeiting knives.celluloidheros wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 3:40 am ..........obtaining old bone in mint condition must be impossible.

Re: Fake Case Bros and Miller bros
What I meant was that taking old bone and forming it to the knife must be impossible to get it to look good. I think its important to show people examples of Counterfeit knives and the real thing. There are so many questionable knives that sell for a lot on ebay so people need education.Miller Bro's wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 5:15 amNot really, I have a lot of it, but luckily I'm not into counterfeiting knives.celluloidheros wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 3:40 am ..........obtaining old bone in mint condition must be impossible.
If you don't Mind, would you take a few pictures of the old bone that you have ?
Thanks, DC

Sure, here is a picture of some that I have on file. All nicely jigged and ready to put on a knife, once buffed it would look just like an original handle on an old knife.celluloidheros wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 5:51 pm If you don't Mind, would you take a few pictures of the old bone that you have ?
