American Switches

Just picked up this American switch. Very well made, the spring is in the blade pivot pin. Seems to be a decent weight and size, excellent materials.

John! Your Piranha IS a very well built knife. Can't remember if yours is a "Bodyguard" or a "Prowler" model, but both are of equal quality and operation. The spring around the pivot is referred to as a "coil-spring" operated auto. Very nice score, enjoy it!

Can you tell a difference in the quality between the three?
I've often read that the Logan Smyth was inferior.

Most definitely, David. The Logan/Smyth doesn't lock closed as cleanly but does spring open and lock open properly. So it gets a lesser rating in my book. Seems to be made the same, though, with the same materials.

Here are 2 that I just picked up. Both work as they should and the color on the Edgemaster I have never seen before.

That little pull ball switchblade is neat. I have one similar that is a Remington.

I don't collect switchblades per say. These are ones that I picked up over the years when buying knives. There is one bone handled Remington that has a beryllium spring. The spring is amazingly strong. Another says H1211 1/2 on the back. nothing really special. i always wanted one of the bigger Cases or Kabars like a Grizzly.

I never knew they made one. Bought a salesman sample roll for a pullball a few months ago and looked at the rest of the knives last week and found this one. learn something new each day.
