We're supposed to get a rare snow here in north Georgia tonight, tomorrow and Sunday night. Went to Walmart today and bought all the bread and milk they had. That's one of our southern traditions so we will see. Probably won't get a flake.

They have definitely pre-treated to the Nth Degree today. I guess they got some flack over the last storm. 21° here currently and supposedly salt is only good down to 22°.

Milk toast was a staple at our house when I was a kid. Usually with some sugar sprinkled on it, or cane “surp”. We was po folks, but we kids didn’t know it.

Just got the power back on thank goodness.It was starting to get a little nippy in here. The rain has changed over to snow now and it makes a pretty picture when you're looking at it from a warm house.

The freezing rain has turned to light snow here thank goodness, hopefully we won't lose the electricity.
Should be over before much longer. Ole magnolia tree is almost dragging the ground.

Going off topic from the weather but wanted to respond to your post.
My home life as a kid was the opposite of yours, I thought we were PO folk, wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized we weren’t. Parents owned 400+ acres of prime Iowa farm land, debt free. Family had held it together thru the depression.
Most of what we ate was raised on the farm, even the honey. Most of my clothes were homemade, some from feedsacks. My parents never owned a TV. I was jealous of my “town friends” with store bought clothes and TV.
But now I believe I had a better childhood.

Hi Tom,

I read once that Delaware has a rather mild & comfortable climate due to the Gulf Strom. Summers not too hot, winters not too cold. Is that true? Seems hard for me to believe.

Well, we got our 2 inches of snow yesterday morning and it was gone by 2:00 in the afternoon.

THAT is how I like to see winter precipitation. Watch it fall..... see it for a couple of hours and then it is just a memory.
