Idenity crisis?

Does anyone have any info on the voss cut co./kissing crane knives.Did voss make these for kissing crane?any info? No longer have this one ,would like to find one in stag,i have seen those too.

Hi nice looking mop congress . According to Goins book, the knife was made by C Bertram of Solingen (1968-1975). The knives were sold in the US by Carter's Cutlery and Fife Cutlery both based in Kentucky. I believe Bertram was owned by R Klass the maker of Kissing Crane at some point but my understanding of this relationship is somewhat fuzzy. Hopefully, someone else will be along with further information. s-k

I believe Voss was an importer.

C. Bertram and R. Klass were different companies, independent of each other.

Until the companies went out of business and their trademarks were bought by United (I think) in the 1980s.

Thanks for the post jrlw1969. I think I should have said that Bertram knives were made by R Klass at one time and not that Klass owned the Bertram co. s-k

Since "Voss" was brought up I thought I would take the opportunity to show off a killer knife I just added to my collection. Made around the 1920's or maybe a little earlier this one is in like new condition and has never been cleaned or messed with. By the way, it is a springmesser (automatic opening knife), and opens by lifting up on the tab on the back spring.
