Cattle Knife Repair

I have an old Ulster cattle knife that I do t have slot in and was hoping to send to someone to have repaired. One of the brass bolsters is bent and it’s caused the main spear blade to rub and also one of the scales is coming loose. Lastly the spear and spey blades have no snap. Not as big of a deal as the first issue to me but am interested in getting quotes to have it fixed. Once I get this one back I have another I may want worked on as well. Any leads are greatly appreciated.

Hey Brian! Bill Deshivs and Muskratman, both members here are excellent knife mechanics although their wait lists can get kindda long. There's also Jeffin who does excellent work and you may not have to wait quite so long. You'll have MUCH better luck if you send those guys a PM or email rather than wait for them to reply to this post. BTW, to AAPK!

Maybe this will work. You can kind of see where the bolster is bent, the main blade closes off center and the scale has slightly separated. Jeffin politely passed on working on it and recommended the same other two names mentioned in this thread. I’ll co tact them soon

Bill wrote back, the other guy did not. I considered sending it to Bill for an estimate but his hourly price was a little out of my range and so I just decided to sell the knife.

Aww, that's a shame RBK. I know Kaleb(M/M)posts a message on the homepage of his site stating the approximate amount of time before he can do any more work, and it's usually about 4 months. Well, if you sell it I hope you get a decent price for it.
