It is authentic. I owned that exact knife, and sold it to the Ebayer who has it up for bids now.

I figure if someone went to the trouble of cobbling one of these they would have gone with a better Pen blade.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Agreed. Nice old survivor, save for that secondary.1967redrider wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 11:52 pm I figure if someone went to the trouble of cobbling one of these they would have gone with a better Pen blade.

As for the stamps, there have been hundreds of different variations over the 120 or so years of W.R. Case. Only the most often seen are in most charts, and there are several different charts. You can rarely rule out a knife’s authenticity based solely on comparing its stamps to a chart, but Goins’ Encyclopedia and Witcher’s Counterfeiting Antique Cutlery contain the most thorough charts I’m aware of.

No apologies needed. We all make mistakes and we are all learning. Asking questions is good. Learning from the answers is good. If you don’t understand the answers, ask again!Resophonatic wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 2:14 am Ok. I take it all back and offer my sincere apologies.
