Utica stuff wanted!
Hello, I am trying to gather all the information I can regarding The Utica Cutlery Co. I hope to use this information in the future to preserve and share the history of the company and the knives they made.
I am specifically looking for utica or kutmaster catalogs, advertisments and ANY photos of the company. I only need good quality copies if you are not willing to part with the genuine article. I am also looking for high resolution images of unique patterns of knives made by utica as well as photos of knives that were a part of the Utica factory collection. I hope to compile a digital or maybe even physical "catalog" of as many of these knives as I can.
I am always looking for Utica knives also but I need the information more than anything!
If you or someone you know are able to help with any of these please feel free to email me at [email protected]!
Thank you in advance
Jason

Since you are in Utica, I'd bet your library would be a good place to start. There are certainly local newspaper articles about the factory over the years. The company is still in operation so I'd bet they have a ton of info also, have you been over there and asked to see their archives? They did sell their factory board of knives they made years ago and the board was broken up and all the knives sold.

I should check the local libraries, I have a plethora of news paper articles I have found through fultonhistory.com, so i have had great luck there. I have had some trouble getting in touch with people at the factory and getting the things I have been searchimg for. The former VP got me some great copies of a couple of the old catalogs they have there but as far as photos and newer catalogs go, he told me that stuff was gone.... hopefully I can get in touch with the current pres David Allen to see if this is the case. I have actually managed to acquire some of the factory collection knives my self but even that collection was not documented very well. Thank you for the suggestions!!

That's a beauty!! One of the members here has some fine carved pearl Utica knives from the board, maybe he'll chime in. I had a couple Kutmasters from the board but I lost the paperwork on them and possibly the knives too.

Awsome knives! Love the EO jack! Not sure if you are aware but Utica Cutlery and Utica Knife & Razor were actually seperate companies, althought Utica Cutlery may have made knives for UK&R on contract!tongueriver wrote: ↑Tue Mar 15, 2022 11:18 pm A couple that may be of use to you regarding images?
