Buyer beware

Post by Mumbleypeg »

Contrary to the seller description Case never made this with wood handles, and it’s not a particularly rare pattern. Handle covers are replacements. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265618530452?h ... Swmw1iQg72

I would see this for maybe 25% of that TOPS as an EDC/filler knife, but nothing more.

I think the rehandle job is done well, but it's not the "original handle" at all. Plus, all the blades and tools are heavily worn and damaged to some extent.

Seller knows better. He has a lot of knives on eBay.
Auction has been stopped.

I just made him an offer of $2.00
I thought that was pretty generous, after taxes and shipping.

🤔 Just for starters, did Case ever use a bail like that? And then the scales . . . ::barf:: ::barf:: ::barf::
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I noticed that too-shouldn't a bail be pinned on instead of just stuck in a hole drilled into the bolster?

I know this only because I did own one but yes, they used a clevis type bail on some of the tested models. This is only one. There are many others.

At least some versions of the Tested 6445R and 640045R had a bail like the OP knife. The 640045R may have been contract made for Case.
