Welllllll... It looks like the Louisville Main Post Office has gone to crap for the holidays again. The vast majority of the time, when one of my packages lands in Louisville, it will show up at my local Post Office 25 miles away from Louisville the next day. Guess that isn't gonna be happening for the next month or so.
And unfortunately, I have 5 or 6 more headed this way that will be going through Louisville as well. I guess I picked a bad time to go on a buying frenzy.

That’s insane!

I received this package this morning in my mailbox in the Midwest. I guess nobody bothered to scan it since it arrived in New York on March 3rd. Not even a delivery scan.

USPS must be getting lazy. Hard telling how many postal workers handled it since March 3rd yet none of them scanned it.

I’m glad it showed up because I was starting to think it got lost or damaged.

This is today’s USPS update to the 2/20 shipment of the knife I had hoped to take on my fishing trip to Florida this weekend.

Wow, almost 3 weeks since the label was created.

Another good reason why your items are never delivered. I'll bet this is more common that we think. I have been blessed with good postal service at the local level and am thankful for that.

Chris, I can top your your tale of woe!
Bought a knife on April 9th, it was labeled on 4-13 in California, it arrived in Chipley a couple of days ago, 5-11. Using internet distances it traveled 9400 miles +/-. It made 3 trips to or from Jacksonville to Pensacola but on top of that it made 3 cross country trips between California and Florida. Tracking was dead in several instances, it would show up after a day or two or three and get sent to another USPS facility. It was in a nice box, too.

Not really anything to do with Mail Delivery but thought i would vent my frustration and anger here. Had trouble with Pay Pal ages ago when i tried to purchase a knife, could not get an answer from them but suspect it was to do with " A Knife being Not Politically Correct or Not Woke ". Thought i would try them again to pay for my membership here which lapsed ages ago but they would not accept my payment, nothing has changed. Tried to pay my membership this morning and they would not accept my payment. So i apologize for not being a paid up member but out of my hands. Have a good weekend everyone.

My wife had a package arriving today. She paid an extra $7.00 for Signature Confirmation. We are both home. I am in my easy chair about 6 feet from the front door and my wife is working from home about 10 feet from the front door.

I don’t have the TV on so it’s nice and quiet in here. We were expecting the package. I heard the mailbox open and close so I got up to check it assuming that he delivered it without asking for a signature. They have done that to us before.

Instead, I find a piece of paper in the mailbox stating that nobody was available to sign for it and we can come pick it up tomorrow. He didn’t even ring the doorbell or knock. Just left the note with no attempt to get a signature.

I called our local Post Office and they had him come back. I asked him if he rang the doorbell the first time and he said “No, I don’t ring doorbells because half of them don’t work”.

In the end, we got the package but what a hassle!

I have a large flat rate box on the way to the Duck Decoy Giveaway winner FRJ. Sent on Monday, we will see if Joe gets it tomorrow as indicated. By the way, while at the Post Office on Monday, I checked whether the flat rate boxes can go to Canada or foreign countries. Canada was about $75, and it said foreign shipping starts at $101 for the large one.

I hear that Jim - cost is the biggest reason that our annual club knife isn’t available internationally. Fortunately many of our north of the border subscribers have a way to pickup items from a US address.

This year I limited the Duck Decoy Giveaway entrants to USPS postal codes 1-9. I hated to exclude entrants beyond that, but the costs are outrageous for shipping there. I will keep in mind for next year the Canadians who could ship to a US address.

Ordered two knives from Texas - shipped May 11. Just checked. Nine days later it seems they made it to the next postal facility in Texas but no further.

Progress report, the box containing Joe's decoy that he won has left Des Moines after residing there about 29 hours.

I don’t ship that much and don’t receive a whole lot.
It’s still USPS for me. Have not been burned yet. I’m willing to pay more than I should for flat rate boxes, it gets the job done.

Joe's box with the decoy has been thru Jersey City and is now in Springfield Mass. Won't be long now.

I swear I am going to subscribe to this thread so I don’t have to search for it every time my mailman screws up. Here’s the latest blunder:

Yesterday, we got a letter that was addressed to the same house number as our house but one block north of us. I put it back in the mailbox with a sticky note stating. “Wrong Address”. It was something from the insurance company Aetna.

I pull in the driveway today after work and see that the letter is gone but the mailbox lid is still open. I thought “hey, we must have mail”. I look in the mailbox and the mailman did in fact take the misdelivered Aetna letter from yesterday.

In the mailbox I find another misdelivered letter addressed to the same address as the Aetna letter from yesterday but this one is from Pampered Chef. It was the only thing in the mailbox.

He took the misdelivered letter and dropped off another misdelivered letter.

the easiest solution to solve this problem is to buy the other house
