David that RR is an exceptionally good looking knife. And the Bowie is always impressive.dlr110 wrote: βWed Jul 31, 2024 3:58 am On my day trip up to Bowie, TX today I found 3 knives and bought 2.
The first one was on the side of HWY 81 going into town....It wouldn't fit in the car.
The next one was a 100 year commemorative lockback for Red Man chewing tobacco 1904 - 2004. It's in GOOD condition and I got it for $10.
The next one is a Rough Rider Trapper that appears to have been customized with a "feather" shield and file work on the springs. It came in a very heavy display box with the carving of the same feather on the lid. I have found some references to Brian Yellowhorse on the RR knives such as this one but I can't say with any certainty he had anything to do with this one. I paid $30.00 for it. If anyone can further educate me on the lockback and the RR I would greatly appreciate it.
