The appearance, which is what drew me to the knives, seems more like they were stamped rather than engraved. And the price would definitely indicate stamping.

A buncha scout/utility knives and one very special Kamp King: my grandfather's that nearly amputated one of my fingers when I was 8 years old. I'm older now but am still wary of opening it.

Ray, I think I may have asked you this previously a long time ago (and based on subtle clues evident in this thread I think I already know the answer), but do you ever sell any of your knives?

Rey/K7K!
I think rather than asking you how many knives do you have, I'll ask you how many knives DON'T you have?
I'll bet the number is far less than the number you do have!
Your displays and pictures are absolutely inspiring, well done!

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
At a point I had become disenchanted with knives & decided to sell the entire assemblage.
A gentleman back east that I knew made me a tremendous offer & I accepted it. Unfortunately(or fortunately as the case may be) he could not come up with the funds(I specified cash only) & that was that.
I used to trade knives with a friend back east, but we haven't seen one another in some time.
I may at some point divest myself of them(save a few with sentimental value)

Kevin, that is an outstanding display of big Case Knives!
I am not too much into their pocketknives, but like the bigger ones. You have some awesome Stag in your collection!
All collections in this thread are superbly excellent as well as abundant!

Re: Collections, Sub-Collections and Family Group Photos
As stated before, my main storage is an antique 24 drawer typographer's cabinet. Had to make some modifications to allow it to hold knives. As the drawers are only about 1 inch deep, it precludes storing most fixed blades.
At present only 22 drawers are used for knives; the other 2 for miscellaneous items.
So here is drawer #3. Mostly contains Swiss Army Knives & knives made in France. Hope you enjoy the pics. Will try & post 1 drawer a day.

I hear ya, Rey, and I think that deal falling through was a blessing, otherwise we may not have met you or had the pleasure of your company, knives, and pictures!knife7knut wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 11:05 pm At a point I had become disenchanted with knives & decided to sell the entire assemblage.
