Even on it's best behavior (aka the mythical "paradise"), Hawaii's salty, humid climate has always been problematic for knife maintenance and preservation. I appreciate the product recommendation, it looks like just what I need for my kitchen knife!

handle knives in a safe place.....hidden from a nosy

Nice. I like the figural solid brass or bronze handled knives.
I have a new phone, a Galaxy flip 7, and today I was experimenting with the camera.
I only have a few knives with engraved bolsters and they tend to be a bit of a challenge to photograph. I am still learning with this camera.

I only have a few knives with engraved bolsters and they tend to be a bit of a challenge to photograph. I am still learning with this camera.

That knife is a Cold Steel SRK, in Carbon-5 steel and made in the USA (by Camillus, I believe

I’ve used this laguiole in restaurants and more than once the chef has tried to buy it from me.
