Agree 100%, Terry. My belief is that the authorities are mostly concerned with large-scale ivory importers, especially of raw ivory.
Collectors of ivory handled knives are not even a blip on the enforcement radar screen. But, you know how backasswards government priorities can be. And, since the law is very clear, there's always a slight concern the authorities may believe that squeezing us little guys could eventually lead them up the supply chain to the bigger fish. Although, personally, I feel it's highly unlikely. Nevertheless, it's worth being aware of the whole picture before getting involved in something that may have negative repercussions, however remote the possibility may actually be.
