Glenn - that knife is a beauty. Count me in!

Okay, here are a couple of photos that tell a little about me. I thought about posting a photo of a finger with a band-aid on it, because that would more or less summarize my knife experience, but this one is more fun.
From the holidays last year: my wife, daughter, mother-in-law, and myself. And here is one of me harvesting pears last year.

Very nice giveaway. Just on some days if rest and packed up my girl and went back home for a few. Grandpa was busy giving her driving lessons through the now harvested wheat fields while I stalked some rodents.

According to our profiles Glenn and I both joined AAPK on May 15, 2006, a little over 14 years ago. Since then Glenn and I have both posted pictures of hundreds, if not thousands of knives, many of them we have modified, customized or restored, or a combination of those three. I think we both find repairing and customizing knives to the a very relaxing hobby, for me it's even more interesting than collecting knives.

If anybody wants to see pictures of my knives, all you have to do is search and you will see good bad and ugly in AAPK.
I wanted to talk about something else that's even more important knives and that's my great-grandson Brawly. I have two other great-grandson's that are very dear to my heart but probably is unique in that he is my first biological great-grandson. We celebrated his first birthday about six weeks ago.

This is a four generation picture Daphne (my oldest daughter) on the right-hand side of the picture, myself in the middle holding young Brawley and my oldest grandson Kole on the left side of the picture. He is Brawly's proud papa and an MMA fighter. When Kole his family had to go back to California they managed to find some time to stop and visit my parents will be 91 in a few months. Brawly is their first biological great-great-grandson, and this was the first time they had a chance to see him. Daphne was not able to come along for the picture because she hurt her back at work and was unable to ride three hours in the car. This picture spends five generations, but the third-generation was home with her bad back.
Kole, is at the left side of the picture next to my dad, with my mom sitting next to him. Brawly and I are at the end. My parents love people and they love children. I owe them a great debt of gratitude for the way they raise me.
I would like to share these two pictures with you also reminds me just how much they love people, including family! As you may be able to tell, Brawly is a very good baby and seems to love everyone is much as they loved him!

Glenn, very nice knife and looks like a great job of putting the stag on it! Very generous of you to offer it to the members. Being a knife maker for 20 years, I have come to love sambar stag for handle material, I am sending a photo of one of my handmade knives just completed, it does not have stag but himilayan rams horn for the handle. Thanks again and put me down for your drawing. I would be honored to own it. Terry

I've only been a member for a bit over two years, but during this time, I've gained friends, acquaintances and a camaraderie I've not found at any other knife forum. I truly appreciate everyone who has been kind enough to help in my education and knowledge base. This 'go to' place is my stress reliever.

Many Thanks to Bryan and all the Administrators / Moderators who help make this place a GREAT place to belong to.

Terry I've been hit by the Ram's Horn bug and that is one fine, fine looking knife. Great handle choice.

My 8th Great Grandfather, Col. Aldert Roosa left Amsterdam in April 1660 with his wife and eight children on the ship "The Spotted Cow" and arrived in New Amsterdam in May 1660 just so that I could have an opportunity to be on this list. Yes, count me in.

I stumbled across AAPK the fall of 2018, and didn't join till January of last year. In the short time that i've been here, i've met so many wonderful people, and made many wonderful memories, I surely blessed to be part of this community, and too call all of you true friends. I've had my us n' downs, good days and bad, dealing with life living with chronic illness, but through it all, my community here has been with me. Forever grateful to Bryan, Phil, Dale, and the many others, that make AAPK the place that it is. You can totally count me in for a chance to win that beauty Glen, honored for the chance to win.

This seems to have tailed off. I'm going to let it run another day or so...

I've been an accumulator of knives since I was a boy. I had carried a 108OT (and later added an Uncle Henry 807UH) everyday from sometime in the fall of 1983 until I lost the last one (the Old Timer) on a jobsite in Fayetteville NC in the spring of 2005. My search for a replacement eventually led me into the knife collectors world and the discovery of AAPK. Looking for another 108OT I discovered that production had been moved offshore so I bought my first using Case Knife (USA!) that same day. I started looking for another Schrade USA and started me buying other Schrade USA models as I located them. About six years later I found a couple of USA made 108OT Juniors to replace my originals, but I had already evolved to a bigger pocketknife, preferring a 3-3/8" to 3-1/2" knife for EDC for the last 15 years. AAPK was the first knife forum I joined (of three) - got led here due to the Research Section. AAPK has a unique forum personality and a splendid group of knife collectors here - all good and decent men (and a few women from time to time) who are just fine folks to associate with. Bryan has created something very special here and I am glad to have been a part of it for the last nine years (I did lurk and learn about for 2 or 3 years before joining). I would like to be entered for a chance at your wonderful custom Glennbad. Pictures of my replacement 108OT bought in 2012, my first user Case bought in 2005, and me using a knife - I'm first and foremost a knife user. OH
Ps. The deer cleaning picture is a good example of AAPK folks - that picture was darker and sideways - JerryD simply fixed it up and re-posted it for me (thanks Jerry!).

I have been collecting knives since the mid 1970's. While I collect mostly Case knives, I am a sucker for any knife with Stag or MOP. I have a very healthy respect for Case, Buck, GEC, Northwoods, and older Queen knives. Particularly the Schatt & Morgan Queens. And, I really like my Bark River fixed blades, although I don't have too many ( or even enough). I retired from the job that paid me in 2008 after 34 years in Sales & Marketing. I have also enjoyed nearly 30 years on our local fire department, but I can see another retirement coming soon. It would be bad form if I ever went down on an emergency run and resources had to be diverted my way instead of where they were intended. That hasn't happened yet, but I am now the oldest on the department. I was putting out fires and working as a Medical First Responder before some of my colleagues were even born.

Here is a picture of some Case customs. I felt the picture was an appropriate one on this national holiday.

First off, thanks to everyone who participated. It's members like you that make this place what it is. I wish I had a knife for each of you, but unfortunately, there can only be one winner. I put all your names in a bowl, and chose one at random...
