Chris, I'm aware of SAD, and it's root in deprivation. One of it's manifestations, and an attempt at relief, is compulsive buying. Maybe I can blame the weather for my desire to catch up to upnorth !

45 here..but that big wind takes the temp down fast...snow started melting here...so spring is coming.

Welp, if snow's like sex...we here, in the Ozarks got a "quickie" last night. Woke up this morning, and everything was white - and then gone by this evening.

Good thing it left so quickly, too -- I went for my final visit to the eye doc today, got me a new pair of eyes ! I'll tell ya guys - if the "man" ever sez you've got cataracts, don't waste time worrying, just git 'er done. My vision went from 20/300 to 20/50. I haven't seen this well, in 20 years. I'm ready to shave the whiskers off a gnat, now.

Rupe, come on down... we've got room for another knifer !

Thanks for the support guys.

Its looking better already. I work in a pretty unusuall field. My "specialty" is color. Automotive color to be exact. That leaves little in the way of opportunities. Its my own fault for working my way into a limited field.

I went to Career Builders and it seems Honda is looking for a Color Specialist for its Marysville, OH location. Its not as far south as I had hoped to get but its a step in the right direction. I'm more than qualified for this one. Wish me luck...


BTW, Is lightning and thunder bad during a snow storm?

Well, been wierd, here, too. Snowed about 6" last night. I've lived in Northeast Texas since 1995 and this is only about the 3rd or 4th measurable snow we've had since then. Got down to about 27. Hasn't been much colder all Winter. I MISS cold weather.

Sunburst, Now there's a man that knows how to relax. Hope to open mine up by May. Wow Bill, looks like it will still snow pretty good from time to time down there in my old stompin ground. I'm from Tyler.

Alright. Since the title of this thread is Weird Day, I gotta admit, I had a weird day.

Due to the 8 inches of snow I got, my 1999 GM van gave me a hard time starting this morning. The wife and I have been mulling over a new vehicle. We hit the dealers today and ended up leasing a new minivan today. Nothing weird so far...

I'm 38 years old and have been loyal to GM all my life. Never owned anything other than GM's. In fact, my 4th Saturn is sitting in my driveway.

The Saturn dealer wasn't willing to budge on prices. Neither was the Pontiac, Chevy, or Buick dealers. On a move that can only be described as sheer desperation, I stopped in at the Mazda dealer. My wife fell in love with the 5 Minivan.

The lease price was something I couldn't pass up.

The son of a GM man, living in the Motor City, driving an import? Gotta say thats as weird as snow in TN.

Above all, my wife is happy. As we all know, "If Mama ain't happy... No one is happy".

First road trip is to Sunburst's place for a couple laps in the pool!

Can't blame a man You said it, if mama ain't happy, your whole world falls apart.

Brrrr you guys are killing me with these descriptions and pictures...Winter seems to be holding on this year for most of the country. Here are a few pics taken of our peaches last week and we should start harvesting Valencia's next week. Spring has sprung in our neck of the woods.

70 degrees one day, two days of snow, back to 50+ degree weather. ah, tejas!

We got 6" yesterday and last night. I don't care much for snow but the way things are with me now, it doesn't really matter if it snows or the sun shines, it's all the same.

My old lady told me yesterday she was "expecting 8" last night".....I just laughed and said good luck on that one! Come to think of it she left about dark and didn't get home til this morning. Hmm

VERY tasty looking peaches ! Boy, what kinda ice cream I could make with them !

But, more than that - I'd give half of Fran's paycheck, to see a tree-ful of those peach blossoms...

We didn't get the 6" to 8" we were expecting. It stayed south of us. Sorry MM.

The wind was enough to ruin the weekend but overall we only got 1" maybe 2". Still got no salt so the roads are as slick as... well.. you know.
