If my roots are from Arkansas I can't be a Yankee can I. I live in Calif. for the abalone diving - other than that this place is a mess. ::shrug::

Too late... ::tounge::

If that was all the snow I got, I'd be doing back flips.

So far our totals for SE Michigan are:
February - 20"
This year - 46"

And this is the side of the state that doesn't get lake effect snow.

I took this pic on Tuesday, the 25th.

Theres only about 5" on the ground now but we're expecting more tomorrow. Probably another 3" at most.

::barf:: I hate this stuff. I'm ready to move south...

I'm on my way Perry!

OK, wishful thinking. I have been exploring some employment opportunities in the south. Trying to get a transfer within the company. The sooner I get out of Michigan, the happier I'll be.

No offence to all you good folks that live here and love it. I just think life is too short to spend it all in one state. I'd like to spend a few years in the mountains and/or the south before moving to the southwest for my retirement (20+ years from now  ).

Thanks for the invitation 46.

Yeah and I know it...I honestly really enjoy the cool weather but I have never had to live in it day and night so I realize I'm a little naive..

Of course in a few weeks I will be waking up with 78 degrees at 5:00 am in the morning and 95 degrees for the high with 98% Humidity. That's ok too but after 9 months it gets a little old... ::disgust:: Sweat and mosquitos become your companion...

We're s'posed to get between 3 and 5 inches tonight, Johnnie. But...snow is like sex. You never know how much you'll get, or how long it'll last.

They oughta take Feb and March outta the calendar !

It's in the mid 50's and raining again here today, with up to 2" forecast in the next 24 hours.

The paper this a.m. said we had 7.62" of precipitation in the month of February, breaking a 112 year record.

There was snow, freezing rain, or rain, 20 of the 29 days of February. If it was all snow, it would have amounted to about 6' for the month instead of the 21.2 official inches for Nov. to Feb. so far, and I would have been Perry's new neighbor in May.

It's a shame some of this water can't be shared with some of our friends in the South who are really suffering a drought.

I don't know about anyone else, but having forum friends all over the country has made me much more aware of bad weather and natural disasters, and I look for their posts as assurance that they're O.K.

Fran

P.S. JR. At least you got some recent snow down there in Dixie !

Its in the 20's right now.

Snow. Sleet. Freezing rain. Not a salt truck in sight because, while Detroit sits on one of (if not the) largest salt veins in North America, there is a salt shortage.
The price has doubled. Doesn't bother me none. Every store in the county is out anyway.

My postal carrier has left several notes in my mail box regarding the ice in my driveway. The USPS is about to cut me off because I can't buy salt.

We're expecting another 7" of snow overnight.

My Seasonal Affective Disorder has kicked in. We're talking an all time high this year folks. For those that don't know, Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, is what happens when the human body is denied sunlight for a God-awful length of time. Its kinda like depression and saps your spirit.

Did I tell you good folks how much I hate the state of Michigan.

Thanks for listening to me vent. I'm off to look for a new job in the south.

Chris
