I appreciate that Jimbo! Until I saw it at the Bay I'd not seen one prior to that either. I could really use a Jackpot right about now, I'm fortunate to still have both arms and legs after buying that knife! lol!

I have a copy of the factory catalog page that shows that knife, but it is undated.
I suspect they were made pre-WW2.

I have new information and pictures to post guys! Eric, (ea42), posted some great information for me. He says these knives were built between 1870-1930, and my model is the 5261, the model Bill described with Damascus blade and gold etching is the 5262, and they made models with either steel plus a corkscrew which Gary from Kennedy Knives was kind enough to post a picture of for me, that are also the 5262 model. That's the info, now to the pictures. I'd requested advise regarding cleaning up my knife and was offered plenty of great suggestions, which I used a little of each except for Mark's suggestion of applying mineral oil since it was determined this would soften the covers unnecessarily. I used a #2 pencil lead to remove the very few minor rust spots as well as clean the dirt out of any pitting which BTW really is minimal, man that works well, I used WD-40 and Q-Tips to clean the channel and apply to the covers, I used Dawn soap to clean up the excess WD and wash it, I used a compressed air-cleaner to blow out the water, and finally I used my Dremel tool with a soft cotton buffing ball to buff the covers. Now the problem is, I still only had my laptop camera for the new pictures which has been well documented in previous posts of mine as being a POS, so until I actually post them I won't know how well the cleaning will show, but regardless of that I can assure you it looks much better! Here goes! Unfortunately I was right, I personally can't see any difference in the 2 sets of pictures, but looking at it my hand right here and now in front of me I absolutely can! I want to thank everyone for their suggestions and advise, as you can read they were all most helpful!

Thanks Bill. If you read my post below yours you'll read that I got similar information from Eric, and I'd assume he was using the same catalogue, but I appreciate your effort all the same.

I've got new information provided by Eric again. He states that he thinks that SS was never used on any of these models, it is either carbon or Damascus, so please substitute carbon where I've posted SS. I had the model numbers mixed-up, mine is the 5261 and the Damascus with gold is the 5262, and Eric posted pictures of this one in the "Still unknown pattern" topic. I've requested he post his pics over here as well since I don't know how to do so, so they might show up if he knows the process. I'll continue to post corrections if they come along.

Wow, I just enlarged your second picture Glenn and your knife still has a full clear stamp, must be almost new. Very nice, wanna trade? lol!

Haha. Umm, probably not right now, LOL. That knife may be my best bargain ever. I found it an antiques booth for $22 years ago.
