You guys should find this one interesting!
It's a Boker Plus 0570 Car Dogleg 8 1/4" auto with a D2 drop-point blade, 1/8" SS liners, Titanium bolsters, carbon fiber covers (hence the "Car" in it's title), an integrated removeable pocket-clip, and a unique BO/BC auto mechanism.
To deploy the blade you position your thumb beside the silver "stud" like knob that's sitting neatly in a cut out on the front cover and is not attached to the blade but rather the liner in some way, then flick it just like you were tossing a coin and the blade flies out with authority as the "stud" slides back into the cut out by itself. To close you must once again shift the "stud" slightly outward and the blade unlocks to fold closed.
I have manual "assisted" knives that operate in a similar manner, where you give the blade attached stud a little nudge until the torsion-bar assist mechanism takes over and deploys the blade, this Boker is not that. If you look inside the blade channel you clearly see the 5mm leaf spring like you'd see in any stiletto auto, and the "feel" upon opening is also that of a regular auto, whereas with an assisted knife the "feel" is kindda soft. Anyone who knows and loves automatic knives knows that "feel".
It's fairly heavy at around 5-6 oz.'s which is likely due to the thick SS liners, and came scary sharp outta the box.
The BO/BC action is smooth hard and fast, along with a perfect fit and finish.
It's not an inexpensive knife, but worth every dime, IMO.
I removed the clip to see how it would look and feel which required removing the screw secured rear cover, but it's made in such a manner that when the cover is replaced it will have 2 openings in it that would allow dirt and/or dust to get inside to the mechanism, so I put it back on since it's virtually non-intrusive and really doesn't look that bad.
This is a nice knife and plenty comfortable, and the fact it's an auto just makes it that much sweeter, but even if it was a manual it would be most impressive!

And it’s a GOOD looking knife, too, Mark! Don’t think I’ve ever see a Boker like that before. You grabbed a good one, though! I LIKE it!

I think my favorite pattern/type of Stockman is now the sowbelly, I have a Boker (yes....
... with a missing shield
) Sow-belly in red jigged bone, nice big and heavy
.... but
not as beautiful as your case, ...
that one is a definite Keeper!

Thank you kindly, Garry, I just knew you'd like that knife, and not only because it's a Boker which you obviously like.
From some of your previous comments it became clear to me that you're not much for anything sinister looking, and let's face it, many of my knives ooze sinister, so I get it.

It's actually more of a gentleman's auto, Dog, at 8 1/4" it has a bit to go before "Beast" status!
But if it appears to be a Beast to you, then a Beast it is!
