Comfort Knives!

Well, I needed some comfort yesterday after a severe case of "Knife Envy Anxiety Syndrome" (KEAS) So, I dug into my German Fixed Blade Stash (G-FiBS) and pulled out my old Linder F.B. A few years ago, I bought it in Vienna Austria while traveling around Europe.

Your pictures look even better than in Fixed Blades, Dog, they're really showing off the beauty of that big ole' bowie, that's a fine knife, my friend.

I have to get these knives posted and can't wait any longer, if any are models I've previously shown please accept my apology, I've become totally mixed-up with which I have and which I haven't posted, as well as some of the information, and since each is buried in a different pile and are currently inaccessible I did the best I could from memory, It's close if not completely correct though. Yep, I like that one too, Kerry, I'm a real sucker for that pistol-grip look. Darker covers would look better, IMO, that white is just too bright.

But, I think it is giving me KEAS (is it contagious?), for I do not own a Linder. Seriuosly, that is a Beauty TopDog!!

Thanks CxIII ... Sorry about spreading the KEAS ... I have done some deeper scientific research and discovered a much costlier offshoot of the above-mentioned affliction called: "Knife Envy and Yearning Syndrome" (KEYS)... it is even worse!

.... On a lighter note, I always look forward to your posts, as you have great knives and outstanding pictures to highlight them. It is always good see you "Back in the C.C.C.P." (Corn Creek Cutlery Post). You don't know how lucky you are, boy

TopDog, this is an example of my approach to safe queens vs user knives.
The Chris Reeve Nyala is of course a safe queen, even though it had been lightly used when I acquired it, and I did resharpen it ... carefully.
The Brother Watchman 206 is s user knife, which cost only $32. Both have good steel (S30VN and 14C28N).
I just started EDCing the Watchman for I like to have a small fixed blade like the Schrade I posted recently, on my weak side, along with my .40 on the strong side.

At first, when I pulled out this knife, the soft lines of delicate scrimshaw illustrating a gentle seascape, gave me a warm feeling of comfort...

Then, it started to remind me of that summer I spent on Amity Island, off the coast of Long Island, back in July of 75' ... and that one fateful boat trip I took on a warm summer's day

Thanks Mark! Being solid knives is part of what I like about Westerns. Feels like you have a real tool in your hand. Yours being a C makes it a 1979 model. Westerns have a look/style all their own, which is appealing also.

Totally agree, Tony, my knives must feel substantial which includes weight, when in my hand or it feels empty.
I read something about the 1979 "C" being significant, but for the life of me I can't remember what it is. Since my hospital stay I've become terribly disorganized, otherwise I'd be posting pictures along with my comments, but how things are now my knives are all over the place so I never know where to start searching so I can take pictures. I only hope it improves slowly.

I promised the Dog I would post this knife yesterday, but I ran outta beans and couldn't get to it. Oh well, better late than never, right?
This is a 9" Stan Moizis designed "Delta-6" linerlock automatic, that's right I said linerlock, and the first I've seen. Most are leverlock, lockback, picklock and others, but never a linerlock.
It sports a needle-point S30V 4" blade with Stan's logo etched on, carbon fiber 5-rib covers secured with screws, Titanium heavily fileworked liners, Titanium exposed rocker button, and engraved date of manufacture on the inside spring.
It has a comfortable 5 oz. weight and arrived dangerously sharp.
Fires with absolute authority followed by a solid tight lock-up and zero play in any and all directions.
It feels a bit odd closing an auto via linerlock, but it is what it is and I'm certain I'll get over it, in-fact, I'm over it now.
It was made in 2010 and very well cared for which is witnessed by it's flawless fit and finish.

The previous owner knows his knives, cuz he stated that in his opinion this knife rivals knives built by Paul "Burn" Panak, and Paul makes some of the coolest nicest autos we will ever see in this lifetime.
Stan also holds a patent for a Benchmade/Pardue designed knife, and that tells me he knows his knives.
I haven't had a knife that I REALLY like in awhile, but that stops now, I REALLY like this one!
