That's one fine looking knife, Yearnslow, a quality build that's worthy of providing comfort to the most uncomfortable person. It reminds me of my Paragon "Mamba" model.

I wanted one ever since I saw "The Road Warrior" as a kid and Mad Marco the hero of the story had a Gerber MK I in his boot. ... I hope your aim is sure and your barrel is holding up better than mine is these days....

The reason Lynn Thompson, in his words, designed the blade with one side being concave, not entirely flat, was for strength. Yours is the CT 2, which has a 3 3/8" blade. The one I recently posted, in a group, is the CT 1, which has a 5" blade. IMO these are very worthy replicas to the Gerber MK I/II.
