I have been getting the usual visits to the feeder, Finches, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Titmice, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary. The best looking birds around my place have been the neighbor's chickens when they come foraging!

The squirrels around here have been doing very well in preparing for winter, in fact they are almost obese. This one met his end today right in front of our house, the instrument of death being the red tail hawk. Photos show the hawk enjoying his dinner.

I identify him as a Tree Rat. It’s OK to shoot rats?
But their are plenty more as shown by another tail in the picture.

I caught this pair of Red Shouldered Hawks hanging out watching my sons' chickens. It is a gray morning here with snow on the way, not the best conditions for pictures. The female is on the left, male on the right.

Great pic of a Pair of Hawks . They seem to be eyeballing something! Chickens beware.

White-Throated Sparrows are the most abundant sparrows here this winter.

Fox sparrows have been frequent for the past two or three weeks. Have yet to capture a decent photo of one.

Saw these two guys chasing around at the dump the other day. I thought I was going to witness my first cockfight! But when I pulled out my wallet to place a bet, the bigger one raced over like he thought I was getting out some food for him. The elegant egret was silently watching while pretending not to!
