Comfort Knives!

I got this little gem awhile ago, and am now just getting around to examining and playing with it! It's a Parker Cutlery Co. slip-joint "Little Pillbuster" Dr.'s knife that's 6 3/4" oal/surgical SS drop-point blade with n/n, NS bolsters, brass liners, invisible pins, and genuine MOP covers. Weighing just shy of 2 oz.'s, and sharp. Has PCC stamps and etches, and was built in Japan. There is a tiny ding in the MOP that is visible to the naked eye, but when I run my finger over it it remains smooth to the touch. Since I don't know how MOP is structured, this tiny defect has me fascinated. How did it get there and still leave the surface smooth? I've always liked Dr.'s knives, and this one is the sweeter of the 2 I own! 8)WIN_20210208_10_36_22_Pro.jpg

Mark ,nice Doctors knife, there a nice slim fit in the hand
Will put this one away tonight ,but had it out to hang around the house cause it’s to friggin cold to go out . It’s big for the pocket ,but feels great in hand . Got a couple of knives in the mail today and other boxes, it slid thru that pretty quickly ,felt good . It’s very snappy really like the single blade with the double swedge and spear point . Wish the Club wouldn’t have done all the etching, but still a nice piece.

This knife hasn't seen much action lately, so it's my comfort knife for today, to fondle and fiddle with as I watch the Super Bowl! It's a Taylor Cutlery "Elk Horn" slip-joint E-O folder that is 6 3/8" oal/SS sheepsfoot blade with n/n, brass bolsters liners shield and pins, and faux MOP covers. Weighs but a couple of oz.'s, and arrived shaving-sharp. Has T/C and E/H markings, and was built in Japan. Cool little knife! 8)WIN_20210207_18_36_46_Pro.jpg

Really like the blade on that,would be a great pocket knife for EDC.

Is this a newer knife or older? I have always shied away from Parker knives I guess but that sure is pretty. Maybe if I bought some of them I get some classier knives huh?

I would have to say I believe it's an older model Nick! There are definitely some nice Parkers to be had, just gotta scout for them and they'll appear!

NICE KNIFE J.P.! I discovered these not long ago, and put one on my "Wishlist". I'm not a fan of swinguards, but on that knife I find they look great. I too very much like the single spear-point blade, and, the caramel colored covers(say that fast 3 times!)on yours are just special! Just wish they weren't so costly. if I were you, I'd keep it out for awhile yet!

Sweet knife TMK! Mark of SSk described wood covers on a knife as "warm", and I must agree with that, something about wood just hits all the buttons for me!

I bought this knife new from AG Russell but rarely used it. I never gutted or skinned a deer with it. But whenever a fixed blade knife is lying around somewhere in the house, it's most likely this one because I like to look at it & handle it more than any other I have or have ever had.

A stunningly beautiful knife Geo! I love how the finger choils were carved into the stag. I certainly understand it being a favorite of yours, I think it would be for most people! Congratulations on that one!

Here's a little folder that I thought I'd like, and after 3 attempts to receive it I finally did! The 1st order was lost, the 2nd seized by Customs because there was also an auto in the package, and quite surprisingly I was only informed about this seizure 2 weeks ago, 18 months after I'd placed the order, but 3rd time lucky! It's a Columbia 6 3/4" oal slip-joint/SS drop-point blade with n/n, SS bolsters and liners, brass pins, black ABS covers, and lanyard hole. Weight is about 2 oz.'s, and came well sharpened. F+F and W+T are excellent for an inexpensive knife, and the run-up is tight which is odd for such a cheap knife. Has Columbia USA markings, although, I'm positive it was built in China. Handy and comfortable little EDC, or, in this case EDA(every day admire!)!

I also keep a few knives (all traditional) on the table next to my Lazyboy. It gives me something to fiddle with when watching the tube.
