Batch of knives from files

I,m having a tuff time getting my pics up even after reading the directions over and over.

It says the image file i,m trying to attach is invalid. HELP plz






Well this seems to work tho not how the site say,s to do it.

Most all the wood on these knives came from one of AAPK,s members. Thanks Dale !

I forgot to say that All my knives are made from Nicholson files that have been tempered to approx 58rc.Everyone who owns one LOVES them.
I like to put premium handle materials on the file knives. I think it gives a nice look paired with the ruggedness of the file blade,s.

Nice knives, beautifull wood! I was getting the invalid file message the last time I tried to post an attachment. I resized my photos by clicking on the "publish this folder to the web" tab in my photos folder and that solved the problem. Hope this helps.

Hey Fog do you anneal these files before you grind on 'em?
If so, do you have a simple, reliable way?

By the way that little Wharncliff on the bottom looks like it will get the job done!!!!!!

Hey Jeff, I annealed mine in the woodstove during the winter. When I emptied the hot ashes, I left them in a metal bucket and they cooled real slow and came out soft - like butter. I put them in the woodstove after I cleaned it so they were in there a good month - until I cleaned the woodstove again. Kinda like getting it done for free.

Yep, the temperature went up and down. When I pulled them out I made sure they cooled slow by adding hot coals. The slower they cool - the better they come out.

As Hot as it is here maybe I can just put them out on the sidewalk.

I put a file the fireplace like that a while back never ground it, I think I know where it is. I'll have to look

I didn,t anneal them. What i did was bring the temper down from the original using the info in the last paragraph of this link.

I can see the pics now.
I thought some of that wood looked familiar!

Thanks Viking ! I like the way they look with the teeth left on as well and it makes for a nice NO SLIP grip when choking up on the blades.
