Machete

Post by keithw »

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a machete. I don't like the coated blades, and would prefer 1095 steel. I think I would like a longer one (~24 inches). I've looked at some of Cold Steel and Ontario's offerings. Does anyone have any suggestions for mfg/model and a good dealer to buy it from? It would be used (clearing brush, etc.), so I don't need a collector piece.

Thanks
Keith

Keith, I have a machete dated 1944. I'll try to find it and take a picture of it, I'd be willing to trade for a good quality pocket knife (Buck or Case) . fergusontd :)

fergusontd,

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I bought a machete last week. It's an Ontario Knife Co. 22" made with 1095 steel. Seems to be exactly what I need. I appreciate the offer though.

Thanks
Keith
