Sharpfinger (152OT) work in progress

As a collector of Schrades I have a BUNCH of Sharpfingers, form mint-in-the-box to very well used.
I have always thought this pattern was an excellent candidate for bone handles.
I decided to try some camel bone handles on a nearly new Sharpfinger.

I am not finished with it yet, but I would love your feedback on what you see here.

Dale, looking good! I recently rehandled one last month for a local fellow. I put buffalo horn on at his request and then I think he was going to checker it later. Fun knife to work on.

I currently have a Fallkniven A1 to rehandle for a guy with micarta. Ever work on one of them? I've never seen one until this one and I must say they seem well built.

Dale, I can't really tell for sure from the pictures but is that faint cloudy area in front of the bone from either sanding or scraping the glue that always pushes out when you clamp?

If it is I'll give you a quick fix for that. Glue the handle on like normal, and then once you have everything clamped up good and tight, spray some WD 40 on the excess glue and wipe it right off. I used to coat the area right in front of handle material with petroleum jelly to help the epoxy not stick but it would sometimes get up under the handle and not get a good glue job. Since I've started using the WD 40 I get perfect glue joints and no mess to clean!

Thought I'd share that with you in case that was what I was seeing. It looks in the pictures like the glue has been carefully removed with a knife edged Kratex wheel. (ask me how I know! ) If not, then I apologize for my comments!

Please show us the final product when done!!!!!!

Thanks for the WD-40 tip. I didn't know that.

I think what it was on this knife was some honing oil on the blade that I didn't wipe off well enough and the scanner caught it and did weird things to the image.
