My Sorta Semi-Custom Falkniven

This was an easy project. All I had to do is shape and sand the handles and put 'em on. They are stabilized curly NW maple cut from fairly common stock. I found the sheath on the net somewhere. I think it's for a D'Holder style knife, but fits perfecto! This baby is ground from VG 10 core laminated 440 stainless and is super sharp. And I can say "I did it myself, ...sorta". Four inch blade, 8 1/4" OA

I have an A1 Fallkniven to rehandle for a fellow. He wants Micarta and maybe some red and white spacers thrown in as well. He just wants a user so I can't play too much with it. I've never handled the Fallkniven knives before but they seem of good quality.

Thanks, guys. I gotta fess up, this was my second attempt. The first was out of stabilized redwood burl that I managed to screw up. I made the mistake of shaping the handles before I drilled the holes. This made it difficult to drill the pin holes perpendicular to the tang. Big ol' learning curve there!

The Falkniven knives are of exceptional quality. There is a total destruction test on Youtube that demonstrates their durability. I have the factory model in well used condition and it is extremely sharp, holds an edge well, and is blood resistant as far as corrosion goes. As far as the stabilized redwood burl, I s'pose I'll just hafta try again. Maybe S/A pistol grips this time!
